Studio closed

The studio will be closed for the next four weeks while I recover from knee surgery. My friend Dr.Sorensen is going to reconstruct my ACL and fix my medial meniscus. I will still accept orders as well as condolences, cookies and cupcakes(hint hint Ally!) I'm just kidding, although your strawberry cupcakes are to DIE for! I will probably answer emails, but not phone calls. So I would like to wish all of my snowboarding buddies a tasty season and hope they make a few turns for me!

Billy and Ashleigh...engaged?

Actually, Billy and Ashleigh are already married. They are doing things a bit backwards. They were married last March in Florida and Ashleigh refers that weddings as the "paper wedding." This summer they will do the whole shebang wedding!
I did some
boudoir pictures of Ashleigh earlier this summer. I always have the best time photographing her! Her family is so fun!

They are getting married on 7/11 so we had to get some pictures there!

Have a holly jolly Christmas!!!

I took this picture with my early Christmas present! A new 45mm 2.8 tilt shift lens! I love it, although it is tricky to use. If anyone knows anything about this lens will you please email me? My 12 yr old daughter decorated this tree as well as 5 other trees in our house! As my mother-in-law would say, she is a "treasure".

Gift certificates!

Get your loved one a gift certificate for a session with Julie Parker Photography for Christmas!

This is a picture of my packaging station. I put an old door in the corner and attached a shelf to it. Under the shelf is a ribbon stretched across the door that my tissue paper hangs from.

Hank and Lacey~married!

Hank and Lacey were married on one of the windiest days I have ever known. I was seriously amazed that all my pictures weren't blurry! The ceremony was short and sweet on the banks of the Snake River in Burley Idaho. Lacey did not want Hank to see her before the ceremony, so we found an alley that blocked the wind a little bit to shoot some bridals in before the ceremony. I found this fabulous chair to use! I went back for it after the wedding and shoved it in my car!

This is my favorite shot of the day!!! Lacey's dad said a few words to the bride and groom as he gave her away. You can see how Hank can't take his eyes off of his beautiful bride as he shakes her dad's hand!

and the winner is....Brooke!

THANKS for all of your suggestions! I ended up using most of them! It was hard to choose a winner, but after attending a charity luncheon for the Christmas Box House last week I had to use Brooke's idea. My friend Kristin hooked me up with a little 4 yr old boy who recently moved into the Christmas Box House to buy Christmas for. It broke my heart to read his list. He asked for a coat and socks and Thomas the train. The children on my friend's lists asked for things like blankets and socks without holes in them!

Tonight we dropped off a bunch of food to Jiffy Lube(I guess they match your donation) and then picked out a video at Blockbuster. I added something fun to do after each charitable event like getting ice cream or going to see the lights. So far so good! No complaints from the kiddos! I will also do something one on one with each of my kids. On Wed. I am pulling Wren out of school(she had all A+'s on her midterms) to go shopping and then to the PUG photography Christmas party in SLC!

This is my friend Rachael's little girl. I love this first shot!

Ideas anyone????

This is my Christmas advent calender . About half of the boxes are filled with presents and I want to fill the rest with some kind of charitable family activity. I am pretty much brain dead right now and am having a hard time coming up with ideas. Please help me out! Leave me a comment and the person with the best idea will receive a "Christmas Eve" scented Salt City candle(my favorite!) To see how I made this you can check out my post from last year here.
